Dr. Yoram Yerushalmi
Yoram holds PhD in Zoology with expertise in Insect Physiology from The Hebrew University at Jerusalem, as well as Postdoc research in development and neurobiology of insects at the University of Arizona, USA. Yoram was a faculty at Haifa University and is teaching Zoology and Ecology at the faculty of biology at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Yoram has an entrepreneurial experience as the former CTO and co-founder of Flying SpArk, a startup which uses fruit flies as an alternative source of animal protein, based on circular economy principles.
Yoram harness his extensive research and innovation experience as part of the ‘Israel Organization for Advancement and Fostering of Insects in the Service of Humankind’, focusing on translating academic research through start-ups into the industrial practice.
